If you have been around here long you might remember Wedding Wednesday! On Wednesdays here on the blog, you would find tips, advice, musings or thoughts about planning weddings or just weddings in general. Well, Wedding Wednesdays are coming back!! To start I am going to post some of my favorite former posts.
Today’s topic is a fun one….trust your wedding vendors. This topic is a tough one for lots and lots of brides and grooms. You have spent so much time planning this day in your life and you want to make sure it goes off without a hitch. Well here are some of my tips to help that happen while also allowing your vendors to help you!! So pull up a chair, a warm cup of coffee and let’s get going.
Firstly, it is super important to remember that you can trust your vendors on your wedding day because you can and have trusted throughout the planning process. Make sure to build a rapport and relationship with them from the start. That will help you hand over the reigns on your wedding date more easily.
Secondly, listen to their feedback. Your wedding vendors have reputations for a reason…they do this EVERYDAY. So when they make a suggestion or come up with an idea…perk up those ears and think about what they have to say. They might just have an amazing idea you might love and would never have thought of. This will give room for your ideas to mix with their expertise- creating the best possible outcome. Just make sure you have seen their previous work and it matches your expectations.
Third. COMMUNICATE. I know it gets said all the time but communication is key. Be sure to be clear about your expectations, be thoughtful, and don’t drag your feet about decisions because it can delay your wedding planning timeline and interfere the services your vendors will be able to provide.
Four. LET GO. (sing it with me…let it go, let it goooooo. Sorry about that but I knew you would be singing it with me!) But seriously. This is a hard one for lots of brides and grooms. You are probably thinking if you want something done your way, you should just do it yourself. BUT, if you want to enjoy it… relinquish control to your wedding vendors. Letting go and trusting your wedding vendors will ease the stress for everyone involved.
Lastly…HAVE FUN!! It’s YOUR day!!! And you have given the reins over to the professionals..it’s time to relax, enjoy your day, eat some food, dance, laugh, love, cry and ENJOY IT!
