I'm Sarah. I'm a small town girl from Dayton Ohio married to the love of my life, snuggler of the world's sweetest doggie and follower of Jesus Christ! I love photographing love, life and memories. So sit back, grab a cup of coffee and enjoy some of my most recent work.
What can I say about Mary and Stephen!?!?
They are the sweetest, most kind, caring, compassionate, Godly people!!
And their wedding day…it leaves me speechless and a couple tears short! Well almost speechless (those of you know me, know I’m never truly speechless. :)!). But I am getting a little ahead of myself here. Let’s go back to the beginning before we talk about this GORGEOUS day!!
Mary and Stephen. They have one of the sweetest love stories I have heard in a long time. These high school sweethearts found each other in biology class of all places. Mary (the future vet) spotted Stephen from across the room and knew they needed to be lab partners. So she made it happen!! And Stephen was more than happy to go along with it ;). The future vet could handle all the frog dissecting that would come along. And you guessed it, the rest is history!! From high school, to separate colleges, 5 years after they started dating…they journey continues!
When it was time for Stephen to pop the question to Mary…man oh man did he do it in style!!! It all happened at one of their places, the lake! Out on the dock with lanterns and rose petals at sunset, he got down on one knee and asked the Mary to spend the rest of this life as his wife!! And to make things even sweeter, Stephen made sure to have all of Mary’s family and friends there to join in the celebrations. I don’t think it could get much better.
But it does!
From the time I arrived at the Estate at Sunset Farm, the joy just OVERFLOWED. The energy in the getting ready spaces, out in front of the house setting up, and around the whole venue was just so full of love, remembering memories, laughter, and Jesus!! My favorite thing to witness was Mary and Stephen trying to remember every hour of their big day by summing out how they felt every hour into one word! Everything and everyone came together to witness and celebrate this blessed union.
From Thursday on, the forecast called for 100% chance of rain ALL day. Not just a light sprinkle of rain, we are talking full down pour. But these two kept the faith. They prayed, and the family prayed, friends prayed, I prayed for the rain to hold off and if not to just let go of the control of this day to the Lord. And you know what?!?! Sunday morning, the chance of rain for the whole day was down to just 30%. The ceremony was planned to be outside on the steps of the estate and that is exactly where the ceremony was. The Lord took away the rain from this day. It was sunshiney and beautiful!!!
Mary and her dad had eyes full of tears of joy as she walked closer and closer to Stephen. From the time of worship to the exchanging of vows and rings, to becoming man and wife, it was just full of love….love for each other and for Jesus Christ and make sure he was proclaimed throughout the whole day!!
After the ceremony, the joy and laughter just continued. From games and goats and smoothies in the garden to the visit from the Estate gorgeous horses during the reception and dancing the night away until the sparkler send off!! I have never seen so many people enjoy and fill the dance floor at a reception. My cheeks hurt when I left!!
Mary and Stephen, thanks so much for allowing me the honor of celebrating with you. I can’t wait to see what the Lord does for you two next. Praising Him with you!!
